Ya se han hecho públicos los resultados del World Press Photo de este año 2009. Anthony Suau ha sido el vencedor de la mejor fotografía de este año, aunque curiosamente el reportaje al que pertenece su fotografía se ha quedado en segundo lugar en la categoría de “Daily Life Stories” . Como viene siendo tradición en este tipo de eventos fotográficos la violencia, las pistolas y la sangre son protagonistas en los premios más importantes. Este año, como no podía ser de otra manera,  la crisis económica ocupa el lugar de honor, un tema difícil de fotografiar como bien apunta Clemente Bernad en su weblog. A mi personalmente me ha gustado mucho el proyecto de Brenda Ann Kenneally titulado “The Raw File” el cual intenta hacer uso de la fotografía y el video como “arma” de activismo social abierto a todo aquel que quiera documentar el día a día de su entorno. Así pues no destaca tanto por su reportaje, sino por su proyecto abierto y vanguardista.   

Jadanik jakinarazi dira World Press Photo ekitaldiko aurtengo 2009ko irabazleak. Anthony Suau izan da aurtengo argazki obereneko irabazlea, baina bitxia bada ere, argazki honen erreportaia ez da izan “Daily Life Stories”eko irabazlea, bigarrena baizik. Tradizio izaten den moduan honelako ekitaldietan bortizkeria, pistolak eta odola izaten dira sari garrantzitsuenen protagonistak. Aurten, nola ez, krisi ekonomikoak bete du ohorezko lekua, Clemente Bernadek bere weblogan dioen bezala, argazkietan itzultzeko erraza ez den gaia. Niri pertsonalki Brenda Ann Kenneally-ren “The Raw File” proiektua izan da gehien gustatu zaidana. Bertan ez da bere erreportaiaren garrantzia somatzen, baizik eta argazkilaritza eta bideoa erabiltzen baitu aktibismo sozialaren arma bezela, edonorentzat irekita dagoen proiektu eta abangoardista bultzatzen.

As it’s a tradition at these photo events violence, guns and blood are “key players” in the most important awards. This year, the economic crisis takes the place of honor, a difficult subject to photograph as noted in his weblog Clemente Bernad. I personally liked the Brenda Ann Kenneally project titled “The Raw File” which attempts to use photography and video as a “weapon” of social activism in her open project to anyone who wants to document the daily life of its environment. This does not stand out much for its photographies, but for his open and avant-garde project.
